Heat treatment continuous gas analysis control
In-line continuous gas analyzers allow you to control the atmosphere to achieve the desired heat treatment results repeatedly and economically.
Annealing furnaces require heating and a specific operating atmosphere to remove carbon from the steel. Typical atmosphere components of heat treatment furnaces are oxygen, carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen (H2), or methane (CH4). The specific atmosphere depends on the type of heat treatment application. Therefore, continuous measurement and control of CO, CO2 and CH4 in particular is important.
The vacuum heat treatment plant can continuously measure the concentrations of up to 3 gases, and calibration with ambient air can simplify and reduce operating costs. Because the sample is not in contact with the measuring sensor, corrosive gases can be analyzed without any consequences. Therefore, simple calibration, long-term repeatability and low cost of ownership to produce consistent steel quality.
