Oil water separator is a kind of device, which is divided into catering oil-water separator and industrial oil-water separator. Catering oil-water separator is used for sewage treatment in catering industry; due to the requirements of environmental protection, the sewage discharged to the ships and machinery spaces in rivers, lakes and sea must be treated, and industrial oil-water separator should be used.
Before using the oil-water separator, the marine operation and management personnel should understand the start-up, operation and maintenance requirements of the separator according to the operation and maintenance instructions of the product.
1、 Start up inspection and preparation
1. Before using the oil-water separator equipment for discharge, the consent of the bridge shall be obtained
2. Check the line installation of oil-water separator and whether the steering of the matching pump is normal
3. Supply water to the oil-water separator and open the top air valve to let the air escape
4. Check whether there is any leakage on the water inlet and outlet system of the oil-water separator
2、 Precautions in operation
1. Adjust the opening of the drain water pipe valve to keep the pressure in the separator, so as to facilitate the removal of dirty oil in the separator
2. Observe whether the pressure gauge, thermometer and other indicating instruments are normal
3. Observe the water quality and oil concentration alarm after treatment
4. After discharge, clean water should be injected continuously for 15min to clean the separator
5. Close the inlet and outlet valves after the pump is stopped to avoid the loss of clean water in the cylinder and reduce the oxidation and corrosion of the inner wall
6. Every time the oil-water separator is used, the discharge shall be recorded in the oil record book
3、 Maintenance
1. Clean the filter regularly, open the relief valve at the bottom of the separator to remove the sediment and impurities deposited in the lower part
2. Clean the internal separation elements of the separator in time, and do not use cleaning agent to clean the inner wall and components of the separator
3. In case of failure, find out the cause and replace the failed coalescer in time
