In our daily life, we often hear that CNC machine tools are divided into hard track and line rail. Customers will ask when purchasing CNC machine tools: is the hard track good or the line rail good? What's the difference between them?
1、 What is a hard track? What is a track?
Hard rail refers to the casting part that guide rail and bed are integrated, and then the guide rail is processed on the basis of casting. That is to say, the guide rail is cast on the bed, and then processed by quenching and grinding. There are also some rails which are not necessarily integrated. For example, the steel inlaid guide rail is nailed to the bed after processing.
The line rail usually refers to the rolling guide rail, which is used in the linear module which is often used in the machine tool industry. We usually call this kind of component "linear guide". The linear guide rail itself is divided into two parts: slide rail and slide block. There are inner circulation balls or rollers in the slider, and the length of the slide can be customized. It is a modular component. It is a standardized series of individual products produced by a special manufacturer. It can be installed on the machine tool and can be disassembled and replaced after wear. Many precision machining field of machine tools, most of them use high-precision line rail as machine tool guide, which also ensures the machining accuracy of machine tools.
2、 Is machining center hard track good? Or the track?
In fact, there is nothing good about hard track and line rail, but whether they are suitable or not, because their emphasis is different. Let's take a look at their strengths and weaknesses.
1. Advantages and disadvantages of hard rail
The sliding contact surface of hard rail is large, with good rigidity, strong anti-seismic ability and strong bearing capacity, which is suitable for heavy load cutting.
The hard rail belongs to dry friction. Due to the large contact surface, the friction resistance is also large and the moving speed cannot be too fast. At the same time, it is easy to produce crawling phenomenon, and the gap of moving surface will lead to machining error. The maintenance of the machine tool track is the top priority. Once the rail lubrication is not enough, it will cause the rail burning or wear transition, which is fatal to the accuracy of the machine tool.
The application of hard rail is suitable for heavy cutting, large mold, high hardness workpiece and workpiece with general accuracy requirements.
2. Advantages and disadvantages of track and its application
At present, the running speed of many machine tools is relatively fast, especially the idle speed, which largely depends on the line rail; the line rail can achieve zero clearance between rails after pre tightening treatment, with high precision; in terms of service life, the line rail is much higher than the hard rail.
The cutting force of the line rail is smaller than that of the hard rail, but for the hard rail, the bearing capacity of the line rail of many machine tools has been improved.
The application of line rail is suitable for high-speed machine and can be used for high-speed cutting. It is suitable for processing products and small precision molds. Nowadays, more precision machining centers use line tracks.
