1. Resistance method


Embedding resistance element is inside of furnace lining, the sensor front aligned with lining the inner surface, through the wire connected to measurement system, the resistance value of resistance element is related to its length, with the loss of resistance element and lining synchronization and resistance change, using the corresponding measuring instrument measured element output signals that can be on-line measurement of the residual thickness of the lining.


2. Capacitance method


The capacitance method is similar to the resistance method in that a coaxial round capacitor sensor is embedded in the lining. The capacitance value corresponds to its length, and the thickness of the blast furnace masonry can be determined by measuring the capacitance value.


3. Heat flow detection method


According to thermodynamics, temperature difference, thermal conductivity and thickness of furnace wall determine the heat flow strength. For blast furnace lining, thermal conductivity is fixed, and the thickness of furnace wall can be obtained by temperature difference and heat flow intensity.


The heat flow detection sensor is installed in the lower part of the furnace lining, and the heat flow intensity is calculated by the temperature difference of the cooling wall of the furnace cylinder, and then the thickness of the furnace wall is calculated by combining the temperature value measured by the temperature measuring electric couple inside the brick lining.


4. Stress wave method


Stress wave signals are highly sensitive to structural defects. When stress wave propagates in the medium, such as interface discontinuities such as holes and cracks, reflection, refraction, scattering and mode conversion will occur. The thickness of cooling wall material can be determined by using the characteristics of stress wave.
