The hydraulic test is one of the important inspection means in the inspection of the boiler in manufacturing, installation, repair, transformation and operation, but it is not the only means of boiler inspection, it can not replace other inspection methods, more can not be used to determine the working pressure of the boiler by hydraulic test method. The purpose of hydrostatic test is to check the tightness and compressive strength of the pressurized assembly of the boiler, but the main purpose is to check its tightness.

It is mainly to check whether the boiler joint, pipe expansion, weld, manhole, hand hole and flange connection is tight.

If leakage is found in the welding seam of the boiler during the hydrostatic test, it indicates that the welding seam has penetrability defect, which is very dangerous. It is necessary to find out the cause, deal with and repair it.

The welding joint of the pipe must be repaired if leakage is found during hydrostatic test.

To the rivet seam of boiler of old whole fiber platform boiler and rivet, discover leakage when hydrostatic test, must find out leakage reason (include the length of leakage time and the position that rivet welds place and water treatment after boiler water test record), if not caustic embrittlement after checking night, the method that can use caulk is handled make it tight not leak. If it is determined to be caustic embrittlement, it cannot be treated with simple caulking method. It should be carefully handled. If riveting parts are removed and replaced by weld joints, old boilers without repair value should be scrapped.

In the newly installed boiler, the pipe expansion mouth leakage occurs during the hydrostatic test, and the measures of filling up the expansion can be taken after reducing the pressure and releasing the water, and the pipes with excessive expansion should be replaced. For the old all-fiber trolley boiler, the cause of leakage should be analyzed, and the repair method can be determined by non-destructive inspection when necessary.
