The temperature of the compressed air discharged from the last stage of the air compressor can reach 140 ~ 170℃. At such a high temperature, the impurities of water and oil mixed in the air mainly exist in the form of gaseous state. After being cooled down by the rear cooler, the gaseous components of water and oil were initially isolated, but a large amount of liquid water mist and oil mist still exist in the compressed air. The function of oil-water separator is to further separate the larger diameter condensation droplets and the higher concentration of liquid oil mist contained in the compressed air, so that the compressed air is preliminarily purified. Therefore, the oil-water separator is the first protective barrier to provide safe quality intake air for other downstream air source equipment.
