box-type quenching furnace basic structure

The box-type quenching furnace is a periodic furnace, suitable for the heat treatment of rod and long shaft parts. The structure of the box-type quenching furnace is: the furnace body is a deep cylindrical well, the workpiece is vertically installed into the furnace by a special crane for heating. The fuels used are usually gas and oil. When using electricity as heat source, it is called well resistance furnace. Box type quenching furnace is generally located below the floor level of the workshop, there are also located above the floor level, or half below the floor level.

The name of the box type quenching furnace is: forced convection box type quenching furnace, natural convection box type quenching furnace, well type gas carburizing furnace. The box type quenching furnace can be heated by gas or liquid fuel or by electricity. When using gas fuel, there are usually a number of small energy burners, which are installed along the tangent direction of the inner wall of the furnace, and arranged evenly according to the layer or spiral shape on the height, so as to avoid the flame directly brushing the workpiece and ensure the uniform temperature in the furnace. When used for low temperature tempering or oil as tender material, a thin muffle wall is laid in the furnace chamber to separate the burning space from the heating space, but the box quenching furnace with muffle wall has a relatively high fuel consumption.
