1. Prepare before opening the salt bath furnace

(1) The operator should wear protective equipment.

(2) Check whether the power supply, temperature meter, safety protection equipment (such as ventilation, fire fighting) and heat treatment auxiliary equipment (such as crane, press) are in good condition (including checking electrical safety grounding), and troubleshoot according to the responsibility system of division of labor.

2, oven

New salt bath furnace lining should comply with the oven regulations, generally less than 50℃/h rate of heating. From low temperature to high temperature stage heat preservation oven.

3. Open the salt bath furnace

(1) Add the prepared salt, low temperature nitrate (working below 450℃) and high temperature nitrate formula shall not be mixed (refer to the bath furnace salt preparation and deoxidation process technology).

(2) Power on the electric furnace, insert the thermocouple after the salt melts, power on the regulating instrument, and adjust the control point (temperature) to the temperature required by the process (modified according to the temperature measurement results). Turn on the fan power, let the electric furnace continuous heating up to the working temperature.

(3) Regularly measure the actual temperature and temperature distribution in the furnace (refer to the "Resistance furnace temperature management Method").

(4) The highest temperature of salt-salt-bath shall not exceed 560℃.

(5) The highest temperature of the salt bath should be lower than the flash point of the oil at 20-30℃.

4. Salt bath furnace

(1) The liquid level should be kept at an appropriate height to prevent the workpiece from overflowing after loading.

(2) Install the furnace, come out of the oven slowly, prevent spillage.

(3) The workpiece and working fixture into the bath furnace must be dried in advance to prevent the molten salt or oil from splashing out.

(4) Charcoal, oil and other organic matter are strictly forbidden to be brought into saltpeat bath to prevent violent combustion and explosion accidents.

(5) The furnace face and working place should be kept clean and unimpeded. The furnace face can be swabbed with wet cloth, but not washed with water.

(6) Remove the sediment at the bottom of the crucible and the dirt at the liquid level regularly.

5. Stop the salt bath furnace

(1) Cut off the power supply and take out the thermocouple (salt bath and short term stop the furnace salt bath can not be taken out).

(2) Regularly lift the crucible out, check whether there is leakage, check whether the salt-nitrate residue on the furnace surface flows to the heating element along the outer wall of the crucible, and take timely measures to eliminate the problems.
